About More LimeSupporting you and your small business
Small business support
More Lime offers affordable, practical support for small businesses. You can free up your time from the things you aren’t good at – to be free to do what you are good at and still have some time to relax.
More Lime can help you with your website – show you how to make social media work for you – write effective copy for your brochure, website or leaflets – give help with special projects – keep you motivated and focused on what you want to achieve.
Why More Lime?
Lime is a word which is used in the Caribbean to describe time spent relaxing, chilling or hanging out. Going for a drink with friends after work, is called a lime. Sitting around relaxing and doing nothing is called liming and it’s a major part of Caribbean culture. Something we in the UK are not very good at. More Lime was formed to allow you more time to LIME and to enjoy the freedom for being your own boss.
I am the owner of More Lime which first began in 2010. I firmly believe that small businesses are the future and that we should be able to enjoy freedom and fun in our working lives.
Understanding the journey
I was made redundant in the summer of 2010, loosing a job you are passionate about can seem like the end of the world. The good news is it can also lead you into a whole new life and force you into taking steps you may not have been brave enough to otherwise take. This was exactly what happened to me. I would recommend redundancy to anyone, it’s such a great chance to claim your freedom and do what you always wanted to do on your own terms.
Starting out on your own is far from easy, there are new challenges around every corner and lots of mistakes waiting to be made. More Lime was established to help you through these challenges, I have already done the work and made the mistakes so I can make your journey through websites, social media and starting out smoother for you. I am passionate about the future of small businesses which give us all a chance to be what we want to be. It is so rewarding to see direct results from what we do rather than just being another small cog in a big wheel. Running your own business is not easy but it is an exciting world of discovery and self realisation.
Get some therapy
After being made redundant I studied Counselling Skills. I decided this career was not for me, but the course proved very useful in complimenting my business skills and has resulted in me coming to know many natural and holistic therapists. I am also a trained Jikiden Reiki practitioner. As we all struggle to cope with modern life I believe these natural therapies have a great future and I find therapists a pleasure to work with due to their passion and caring wish to make a difference to the lives of others. I am delighted I can provide the background business skills that they need to support them.
My background and most of my life has been dedicated to travel and I am now delighted to be able to continue offering my skills on a freelance basis to the few remaining small privately owned travel companies that are struggling to survive in this tough market place. This market is ideal for using freelancers as it keeps your costs low whilst providing assistance when you need it most. My vast experience means I can get stuck right in and deliver what you need.
